Types of ConservatoryThere are quite a few different types of conservatory available today that you can choose from and each type has different benefits and draw backs to consider. The type of conservatory you choose should also be one that will best suit your home, garden and restrictions. There are many different variations of each of these types of conservatories and many different designs and styles, so the possibilities are enormous when it comes to finding the right conservatory for you. However, these are the general, main types of conservatory categories that all conservatories should fall into. Three/Five Facet VictorianThe three facet Victorian conservatory is one of the most popular choices of conservatory available today. It has an elegant shape that is suitable for most situations and gardens. The five faceted Victorian is also a strong favorite of conservatory buyers and displays a much more rounded end. These types of conservatories do demand a larger space so need a reasonably sized garden to accommodate them. Georgian ConservatoriesThese are typically very square box like conservatories which are not as elegant in exterior design. This does however, provide a functional and larger floor space for the user rather than a faceted design which is more difficult to utilize for furniture. Gable Front ConservatoriesThese conservatories resemble something more like a green house placed on its side to the house. It is a very distinct design and also a more traditional option. They have a high roof with steep window angles which makes them a perfect match for houses with high and steep roofing. Box Gutter TypeA box gutter conservatory essentially extends from the existing building and utilizes the existing gutter system. Rather than having the roof accommodate the wall of the home it looks rather like a separate entity with roofing that slopes towards the wall of the home and drains through the existing gutter. Corner Infil ConservatoriesCorner Infil conservatories are unusual by design appearance but maximize the space they inhabit. They are also cost effective conservatory solutions as they utilize two external walls hence the name “Corner Infil” as they fill up a corner on a home. ‘Leanto’ ConservatoryLast but certainly not least is the Leanto conservatory design. This is a suitable conservatory for those with height restrictions such as low upper floor windows, council restrictions or overhanging trees etc. They are low down but can also be very extensive meaning more room inside. If you have an extensive Leanto in mind make sure you have enough garden space for it. Naturally its name comes from the style of roofing that leans towards the home so it looks more attached to the home with a half of a roof extending gently outwards. If you are unsure which type of conservatory would be best for you there are two main concerns to think about. Firstly talk with your local council to check your building restrictions and any necessary planning permissions and building regulations you need to adhere to with your conservatory. Secondly talk with the supplier about your garden and the design you had in mind, they will be able to advise you on the best model for the job. |
